Lo-Chlor Care Program |
The Lo-Chlor Care Program is being utilized more and more as people either want to get away from using a lot of chemicals in their hot tub or to greatly reduce the amount. The Lo-Chlor Program focuses more on the ph and Alkalinity than on the other chemicals being used. Thus reducing these amounts substantially. Below is the easiest way to put this into motion in your hot tub. It is very important however to insure that your hot tub has a Corona Discharge Ozone system. Check your owners manual or check out their website to see if you tub is so equipped. (1) First on a weekly basis you’ll want to be sure to check you ph and Alkalinity. If the Alkalinity is low you may use baking soda (this is a natural product) to increase it. You need to insure that the Alkalinity level is in line first then adjust the ph level once the Alkalinity has been leveled out. (2) Make sure you are using a mineral cartridge of some sort i.e. Nature 2 or Spa Frog in conjunction with this program. This enhances your ozone system in cleaning out bacteria from the hot tub. This will need to be replaced each quarter when draining your hot tub. (3) Typically add 1 tbs of non-chlorine shock to the spa weekly. (4) In the event you are having an extremely large bather load you may need to add 1 tsp of granular chlorine/bromine. (5) Clean your filter every other week to insure a smooth flow of water through the system. |
