Chlorine A product to sanitize water. Available in either a granular or tablet form effective in sanitizing and disinfecting hot water. Biguanide sanitizer 100% Chlorine and bromine free, virtually odor-free controls bacteria longer than chlorine or bromine. Shock (granular or liquid form) A non-chlorine shock used to breakdown oils, lotions and organic materials. Removes irritants as well. Bromine (tablets or granular form) Bromine typically breaks-down slower than other sanitizing agents in hot water. Spa Minerals There are a wide variety of these available from most retailers and are marketed under various names. These work in conjunction with your sanitation program to relieve the need for additional chemicals. Alkalinity increasers You may purchase this product under various names, however it is usually listed just as we have it listed. You may also used go ‘ole baking soda to do the same thing naturally. Ph increase This is one product that you need to use in conjunction with your alkalinity increasing product. Many times if the ph is low so is the alkalinity. So get the alkalinity balanced first. Ph decrease This product is listed for the most as we have it listed here. It is designed to lower the ph of your tub. Calcium booster Raises water hardness level while reducing foaming. Ph balance Does just that. Maintains the balance the ph between 7.2 and 7.8 Clarifiers There are a wide variety of clarifiers on the market today and they do various task from removing scale, foam, metal, dirt, oil and line film. Be sure to ask your retailer exactly which one you may need for your chemical program and tub type. Fragrances Wow, have I got an earful on this one subject. Sorry ladies, but remember most of the time the person cleaning out the tub is your hubby. Sure smells nice though. The jury is still out. Foam down Eliminates foaming, very effective use in small amounts. Spa Perfect® Natural Enzyme used to dissolve oils and to prevent water line ring and grime. Filter cleaner Removes debris and helps clean spa filters. CitraBright© Used to clean spa after it has been drained, to clean the shell. Spa wax An acrylic wax, may be used to wax shell. Specially formulated for hot tubs, do not car wax to wax your shell. Jet cleaner This is an awesome product to insure that all the plumbing lines and jets are clean. Use twice per year, unless otherwise stated in your owners manual. Can also be used for jetted bath tubs. Spa Cover cleaner/conditioner Used to keep the cover soft and supple, to prevent cracks. Use saddle soap or mild soap to clean as well. Do not use car care products on your spa cover. Metal control products These are usually metal sequestering agents that are used to remove minerals such as iron and copper from the water that cause staining. Used only at initial start up and refills if your city water has excessive amounts of minerals in the water or you’re filling your tub from a well.
